They say everyone comes into your life for a reason
A reason to learn a certain lesson

Since I've met you,
I've learned something new each season

Why have you crossed my path?

So that I may know confusion?

So that I may feel heartache and pain?

So that I may learn the games some people play?

Are you here to test my self-respect and self-worth?

Did you come to show me how selfish I am?

What a liar I can be?

I believe you crossed my path,
to teach me more about me

You've taught me many lessons,
that take others a lifetime to see

These lessons would not be remebered,
if they were not accompanied by great emotions

I knew you were here for a reason,
although I did not understand before

You've entered my world,
you crossed my path

At this particular time,
you were sent by the Lord

Someone up above knew I needed guidance to grow

Educated and improved,
Has my body, mind, and spirit grew

With each passing hardship,
I grow in strength and wisdom

If you did not cross my path,
I may have been a different person

With each test life gives,
Life provides a teacher to help us pass

I thank you for crossing my path and bringing me pain and joy,
along with a greater wisdom of who I am and where I want to be.
