Radioless AFV
For the purposes of Team Tank Rumble, to simulate the effects of AFV that
were not equipped with the radios, the following rules will be in effect
by SSR. Radioless tanks will be noted in the scenario OB. Note also the
modifications to the standard Tank Rumble communication rules.

Movement
Radioless AFV are not be required to travel in platoon formation or to
make a non-platoon movement TC. They may choose to move in platoon formation
by ordering their tank to follow another tank provided they are adjacent
to the lead tank at the start of the turn. This platoon movement can stop at
any time and the tank can move on its own. Due to the simultaneous nature of
the movement phase, MP will be calculated separately for the tanks of a platoon.

Communication
Radioless AFV cannot send messages like radio equipped AFV. Radioless AFV
must be CE to send a message, they do not have to be CE to receive a message
from another AFV. After players receive the GO Radio1 or GO dRadio1 from the
GM, they may send one message to a tank in LOS. Other friendly tanks in LOS
may also receive this message as determined by the GM (The message will be
forwarded by the GM).
Radioless AFV that send a Radio1 may not send a Radio3 message. If a radioless
tank starts the turn BU and becomes CE during SG1, it may then send a
Radio3 but with a maximum of 50 characters (spaces not included).
Radio1 messages should be standard Radio1 message length or shorter.
Extra non-informational chatter, ie. whining and chest thumping, do not count
against the limit and will not be forwarded to other tanks.
Radio equipped AFV can send messages to friendly radioless tanks as detailed
above while also sending normal Radio1/Radio2 messages. They will also receive
and understand messages sent by Radioless AFV. This includes Morse code radio
equipped AFV (see below).
The PL's tank will always be equipped with a radio.

Morse Code Radio equipped AFV
This type of radio was particular to the French AFVs of the 1940's and will
be in effect by SSR. Tanks equipped with Morse code radios will be noted
in the scenario OB.

Movement
Morse code radio AFV can move normally or they may platoon move as detailed
in the radioless AFV rules section. They are not required to move in a platoon
or to make a non-platoon movement TC.

Communication
Morse code radio equipped AFV can send and receive messages from other
similarly equipped AFV. They can send Radio1 and Radio3 as detailed in the
rules.
Morse code radio AFV messages are limited to 100 characters, not including
spaces (approximately 2 lines of text).
Extra non-informational chatter, ie. praise for the GM and cries to the ASL
gods, do not count against the limit.
The PL's tank will always be equipped with a Morse code radio if other tanks
in the platoon are equipped with them.

Signal Flares
The Signal Flare rules are to be used in conjunction with the Radioless AFV
rules and will be in effect by SSR. Only a side with radioless AFV may have
signal flares.
The PL will be issued six flares prior to the commencement of play, two each
of three colors, red, blue, and yellow. More colors can be added at the
discretion of the GM. All radioless tanks of the platoon will also be issued
two flares, one green and one orange. The meaning of the flares is entirely
up to the PL. Tanks do not have to be CE to spot the flare.
At the GM's discretion, the PL can give his flares to radio equipped tanks
under his command.

Usage
A Signal Flare can be fired at any time that a radio message can be sent.
The tank does not have to be CE to fire a flare. The usage of a flare does
not affect the ability of the PL to send or receive radio messages.
Signal Flares are visible to Level 4 of the PL's hex and will persist a full
game turn from the time of firing in no wind or moderate wind conditions. In
heavy wind the flare will persist one player turn.
Signal Flares will drift in moderate wind, one hex in the direction of the
wind, or heavy wind, two hexes in the direction of the wind.

The above rules are intended to convey the limiting effects of radioless
AFV and morse code radio AFV. If they fail in that respect or are deemed
to adversely effect the enjoyment of the Rumble, then future Rumbles will
have to use radio equipped AFV only.
