Naloxone
Thebaine derivative competitive opioid antagonist which competes with opioids at opiate receptors.
Indications:
Respiratory depression induced by narcotic overdose.  Asphyxia neonatorum.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity, respiratory depression.
Common Side Effects: 
Induction of severe pain when administered too quickly to those with physiologic narcotic addiction.
Potentially Lethal Side Effects:
Ventricular tachycardia/fibrillation.
Adult dosing*:
Narcotic Overdose:
Very slow IV Push <2mg,
Alternate routes:  IM, SQ, ETT
Titrated to return of spontaneous ventilation or level of consciousness
Pediatric dosing*:
Asphyxia neonatorum:
Very slow IVpush <0.1mg/kg, Max 10mg by all routes
Alternate routes:  IM, SQ, ETT
Titrated to return of spontaneous ventilation or level of consciousness
Notes:
-  Rapid or non-judicious administration of Naloxone (Narcan) can induce acute withdrawal in patients who may be physiologically narcotic-dependent.
