| Our Obituaries | |||||||||||||||||||||
| It is morbid to think of death. I'll be the first to admit that my own mortality is usually the last thing on my mind. But we all must face the death of others, loved ones, friends, colleagues, sometimes even strangers. Maybe we give a fleeting thought to our own temporary stay here and how it might end. What will be said about us when we are gone? What will our obituary say? What will be on our tombstone? One of the assignments given us in Death and Dying was to write our own obituary. Mine is not very impressive, but doesn't totally reflect the joys and tears, the highs and lows I have had during my brief stay in life. Regardless, it will be written someday, if the papers are around when I die. |
