Tour de Buck race at Buck Hill
1993 was a super year for Mountain bike racing for me.  The Tour de Buck race was always challenging with the heat and bumpy course.  The picture below is the 1st lap right before the finish line.  There is a nice hill that you put the bike in 24th gear and get up to 43 MPH on.  There's a little hill but at this race some dudes put a board on it with a huge arrow so riders would catch some air.  Well most of the riders didn't have a BMX background so they just rode over the lip and people actually boo'd!  In my race I wanted to give the crowd something to cheer for and to their surprise I got some air and flew approximately 60ft.!!

The second lap I really bunny hopped but at 43 MPH and bunny hopping gets a little tricky and I nose manualled and almost bit it.  The third lap I flew but wanted to ensure my 1st place so it wasn't as gnarly but the crowd was totally behind me due to the air I was giving them.
