First race at Moose Jaw and first place!!!!
Last race of the season and it was in pure mud!!  1st place!!!
1981 was a great year for BMX racing!  After being at the Rondo classic we headed home to race and a new ABA track opened called Moose Jaw BMX.  Below is the first day of the track opening and it wasn't even completed but it was an awesome day.  I was nervous because I was in the third moto and having bad luck with the gatestarts.  Well everything came together in the third moto and qualified.

I rested and was ready for the main.  I drew number three so I finally had a great position on the gate.  All I remember was that I cranked my butt off and had the lead to the first corner.  Extended it by the triple whoops and was sure of 1st place.  It was so cool to finally have a race put together like that and set my standards high from that point on.
Last race of the season and pulled an awesome start, one footed due to the pouring rain.  Won the first corner but instead of pedalling through a foot of water I ran with my bike through the water until the first double then hopped on!  I looked back and everyone was stuck in the first corner.  Just pedalled hard enough to keep myself upright and took home the first place trophy and overall points for 15 Expert.
