Those directions gave me the ability to install white faced reverse indiglo gauge faces onto my stock gauge faces. Tobys instructions also detail how to get your needles to glow with aftermarket lighting.

While Im partial to my white faced red and blue gauges, there are a dozen other cool white, silver, black, and multicolored gauges faces out there. Check them all out before you settle on one!

In order to modify the poor dimly lit stock green lighting, youll need to move to LED lighting strips and solder positive and negative connections onto the power bar on the light reflector of your cluster.

A fellow VW Vortexer named VentoGTD sells these blue or red LED light kits on VW Vortex. So look him up in the Jetta III Classified under Blue LED. Kits run about $60 as of December 2003.

Search for A3 Blue LED gauge cluster kits for sale on VW Vortex.

Install the blue LED light kit into your modified white face RI gauge cluster and you are almost there as to my setup.

Youll need to find a vendor on eBay selling brushed aluminum bezel for the Jetta III without cutouts. I bought mine for $15 from Fire and Ice.

Some people have been successful in heating the glue attaching your clear plastic cover to the cluster housing. I just pried mine off as careful as possible and still cracked my cover. I cut it off and am quite happy without a cover. Just dont mess with your needles while driving or your accuracy will be off.

Install the bezel last and you have it!

Enjoy the distinctive look.
