Click on the underlined word to see pictures...... Sorry for the delay, interent reception has been bad.

To start the day, my thinking was that there wasn't going to be much to see in Minnesota and eastern South Dakota, but I was wrong.......

We got on the road at 7:45 this morning and crossed the Mississippi River into Minnesota. Finally, some stupid stuff came along. First, in the great town of Austin, Minnesota lies the home of Hormel Foods, the makers of Spam. So we stopped by the
Spam Museum and took a few pictures (Pigs and Restraunte). They were closed so we couldn't go in. We continued down 90W and came to Blue Earth, Minnesota. The home of, well nothing, but they do have a 60' tall Jolly Green Giant Statue. Got some good picutes of him (and no Scott, his balls are not showing).

That was about it for MN, but now on to South Dakota. To begin the state looked more or less like all the rest, except it is by far more tacky with all the commercilized signs for the cheesy attractions. Its billboards after billboards. But this place does have the world's only
Corn Palace. That's right, a whole building plastered with corn!!  Took a look inside and there's actually a basketball court. Never thought I'd see that.

Crossed over the
Missouri River which was cool (Pic2 & Pic3) and eventually came into the Badlands. We missed out on the cool stuff since we didn't know where to go, but got some good shots anyway. From there we made our way to Mt. Rushmore which is in the Black Hills region in western SD. Was a bit disappointed with all the commercialized things in the area, but at least I stopped by. (Pic2, Pic3, & Pic4)
