Books and Authors I've read and enjoyed
This page provides links to all of my favorite book/series and the authors who wrote them.

J. R. R. Tolkien, Lord of the Rings

Above and beyond all the rest. My All-Time favorite series.
Tolkien brought to the forefront the fantasy genre and did it the best.

Tad Williams, Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn Series

Not as good as Tolkien, but very entertaining none the less.
Three part series, with the final part divided into two books.

George R. R. Martin, A Song of Ice and Fire Series

Not as fantasy oriented as the other authors on the list, but the
series itself is extremely entertaining and descriptive.

Robert Jordan, The Wheel of Time Series

Very enjoyable and fast paced story. The series is not
yet completed (currently at 11 books I think) and has become
very long winded and spread almost too thin.

Terry Goodkind, Sword of Truth Series

Another great fantasy series, with the latest book taking on
new main characters. Not as good as the previous books, but
                   still a good read.

Jane Auel, Children of the Earth Series
Not really fantasy at all, but more historical fiction about
pre-historic times. Great character development and detail.
Five books thus far and one more to finish the series.

John Jakes, North and South Series

A great historical fiction abouth two families, taking place
during the Civil War. Three part series that is also
accompanied with a twelve part mini-series. Jakes has also
                    written the
Kent Family Chronicles detailing the life of one
family before, during, and after the Revolutionary War.

Ken Follet, Pillars of the Earth

Great book taking place during medieval times and focusing
on the characters surrounding the building a cathedral.
                  Very entertaining and descriptive
