JTAT invites you to our annual summer workshop. This year we can offer 5 hours of in-service workshop credit through Rice University School of Continuing Education. (There is a $10.00 charge in issuing this certificate.) We will discuss how to apply Deai material in your curriculum.

9-12 Workshop
12-1 Lunch
1-3 Workshop continue
3:30p.m. Please meet in the Lobby of the Caroline Wiess Law Building, 1001 Bissonnet, Houston
3:30 p.m.-4:45 p.m.  Gallery Tour and Introduction to the Resource Center, Museum of Fine Arts Houston (MFAH)
4:45 p.m.-5:30 p.m.  Everyone drives to Consul General Amano's residence located at 17 Farnham Park Drive (just west of the intersection of Voss and San Felipe).
5:30 p.m.-6:15 p.m.  Short meeting at which we will discuss the Speech Contest and business concerning both JTAT and the Consulate.
6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.  JTAT and Fulbright teachers reception at the residence.

The association will pay $50.00 for a double occupancy for hotel.

If anyone needs a place to stay, there will be some beds available with Houston area members.

Lunch will be makunouchi bento and it is @$10.00.

Please RSVP to Bolinger sensei by 23rd of June so that she may contact the sonsulate for the number of people attending.

April 5, 2001 - Mrs. Chizuko Bolinger was nominated as a TFLA Japanese Language Teacher of Year 2001 at the conference which was held at Laredo, TX on March 29 to 31. February 06, 2001 - JTAT announces that Houston Association of Teachers of Foreign Language (HATFL) recognized Japanese language and included Japanese language to their Ferrington Awards Program. It means that students of teachers who belong to HATFL can compete their skills and receive monetary awards.†

JTAT would like you to know this because this is 'one step forward' for Japanese Language Programs.†
