Beautiful Night

As the trees sway in the wind
A shadow is cast with a silver rim
Holding my hand up to the light
The wind wispers past my brim

Way up on this cliff, it's quite a height
I wish I could catch this night
I peer out among these hills
In the darkness they roll just right

Have you counted all your thrills?
This night gives me chills
Oh, to remember how it glows
The fog sets in as it starts to fill

This beautiful place is quite a show
Can you see the river flow?
Can you see the leaves sway to and fro?
I wish you could see it when it snows.

This poem was written as a project.  I imagined the perfect night and what i would  want to see.  This is one of the few that actually follows a rhyme scheme.  It is my first published poem.  It can be found in the anthology called  "The flame of hope".  This is  definately one of my favorites.
