JT Snow is my all-time hero and the whole reason why I love baseball. Back in 1996, I watched my first baseball game and after watching a couple of Angels players: Salmon and Edmonds on the screen, I finally saw him and fell in love. Little did I know what his future would be like and little did I know that he wasn't going to be an Angel for long. In 1997, he was traded to the Giants. Spring Training was going smooth until the middle of March, his spring was over, Randy Johnson (SEA) thrown a 98-mph fastball in his eye. Everyone thought he would no longer play again, but Opening Day came and he was the starting at 1B for the Giants. What a relief!?! His best season was in 1998, when he hit 28 HRs and 104 RBIs. In the seasons of 1995-2000 Snow remarkably won six consecutive Gold Gloves for his marvelous defense. Good job, Snow! In 2001, he had three trips to the DL - first of his career. A threat to his spot at 1B when Andres Galarraga was acquired to replace Snow for his time out. Andres wasn't quite a replacement since he was asking for too much money from the Giants... bye bye Andres! In 2002, he was having a good spring then towards the end, he went on the DL for something that happened during BP. Rookie 1B from the minors, Damon Minor, was on the invitees list. Dusty Baker brought up Minor as a back-up 1B just in case of an injury to Snow... Even through the troubling times and losing his job to a rookie, Snow will always be the greatest man alive and I will never give him up. Dedicated to the best first baseman in baseball - This one is for my golden boy. Please sign my guestbook and let me know how you like all my pages. |
