The ASR Racing Series is a series where we race kick scooters. In 2002, Joe Tomlin Jr and some freinds got bored during summer vacation and started racing their scooters back when scooters were the big thing. Then Joe got older and grew out of racing and noticed how his brother and other kids were spending their summer vaction playing video games and hardly getting outside. In 2003 the ASR (Association for Scooter Racing) was born to get kids out of the house and "just play" and get some exercise. The racing has evolved into a 18 race season starting in June and running all the way to November. Complete with a points system, rules, organized events, and a victory lane. The season races are held in the same place with a variety of different tracks mapped out. Races usally consist from 3 to 7 drivers. Joe has since retired from racing and now runs the ASR and is the main official on race weekend. The series has a points system like the Nascar Craftsman and Busch series; 180 for winning, 175 to second, 170 to third, etc... and 5 bonus points for leading a lap and 10 more bonus points for leading the most laps in a race. At the end of the season the points are added up and reviewed over and over to determine the champion. The ASR has put a registration into effect, costing $2 a race to cover expenses of running series and award the champion a money award at the end of the season.
There is still alot to know about the ASR, so please contact us for more info.
