Tickle Me Gay
For this edition i wanted to get in touch with my lighter side. These are lyrics from some guys who may or may not be gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Fuck Babs
And I Moved
Words by: Pete Townshend
Performed by: Pete Townshend on the album Empty Glass (1980)
And I moved As I saw him looking in through my window His eyes were silent lies And I moved And I saw him standing in the doorway His figure merely filled the space And I moved But I moved toward him And I moved And his hands felt like ice exciting As he laid me back just like an empty dress And I moved But a minute after he was weeping His tears his only truth. And I moved But I moved toward him
This is a song that Townshend apparently had originally written for Barbara Streisand. I think she had asked him to write a song for her, or something like that, but a rep of hers said it was a little to "risqu" for that fat ugly bitch. Anyway, he didn't want to shelve it & decided not to change the lyrics. Now i personally don't think Townshend is gay, but this song, along with some other things Pete had said in interveiws, got people talking. And you know how people are when they start talking.

Levon, you butch, you.
Levon {excerpt}
Words by: Bernie Taupin
Performed by: Elton John on the album Madman Across The Water (1971)
And Jesus, he wants to go to Venus Leaving Levon far behind Take a balloon and go sailing While Levon, Levon slowly dies
I realize that Bernie Taupin (who is straight) actually wrote these lyrics, but i've always thought they fit Elton well. The kid in the songs wants to leave his oppressive father behind and go where? To Venus, of course. Hmmmmm.

Controversy {excerpt}
Words by: Prince Rogers Nelson
Performed by: Prince on the album Controversy (1981)
Am I black or white? Am I straight or gay?
I guess the real question is, who cares? Maybe it's just because i'm not a huge Prince fan, but not me.

God i love mens!
April Fools
Words by: Rufus Wainwright
Performed by: Rufus Wainwright on the album Rufus Wainwright (1998)
Oh what a shame that your Pockets did bleed on St. Valentines And you sat in a chair thinking: "Boy Im such a Prince!" Well lifes a train that goes From February on day by day But its making a stop on April first And you will believe in love And all that its supposed to be But just until the fish start to smell And youre struck down by a hammer Sure you were swift when the handsome Greek boys dropped by with gifts You are suave thanks to ribbons that opened sesame But in the stars and closer to home in every planet It aint hard for me and dear JoJo to see And you will believe in love And all that its supposed to be But just until the fish start to smell And youre struck down by a hammer So let it all go by looking at the sky Wondering if there are clouds and stuff in hell
When this song was first released, i really liked it. My roommate at the time, Pat Morgan, went out and bought the album & we thought it was pretty good stuff. Then we found out that all the songs were written about guys that Wainwright liked. As if that wasn't bad enough, i then read this:
"I wrote that at a Valentines Day party. I was so lovesick. They had these kissing booths, and there was this cute guy in the booth everyone was kissing, but I was too shy to do it. Then I went up to relieve him of his kissing-booth duty, and nobody came to kiss me. It was terrible. You think everythings great, and it just comes crashing down. Id come up with the line "You will believe in love" earlier that evening in the bathtub. I stood up and sang it. It just sort of hit me as the perfect pop ball-grabber of a line. Then I went to that party."
