I was the only one to get my "limit" (5). Luck? I don't think so!! Nice Dodo, Cody.

Special Report  UPDATED : 11/1/97-  Just got back from fishing again aboard the "Legend" out of Seaforth Landing in San Diego. We had a pretty good day. The total take was 72 Yellowfin and 2 Dorado for 24 anglers. I was fortunate enough to get my limit. (5 Yellowfin). The tuna down here were a little smaller than thier Dana Point cousins last week, 10-20 pounds was average but the numbers were better. We had found two good paddies that were holding. We had got around 50 off the first one. We may have done even better if it wasn't for a slight delay in the morning. It was about 5:30 am and we had been drifting for about an hour. Some of the guys were already up soaking a bait when I heard the words "hookup!!" It took about 20 seconds for me to get out of bed, put my shoes on, and throw a bait into the water. A nice, 15 pound Dorado was already coming to gaff and four other rods were bendo. Nobody had expected to get bit by the Bigeye this early. No-one was using over 30 pound test. One by one the four lines got busted off, the last one after a 2 1/2 hour battle. The fish was only 15 feet under the boat. You could see it was HUGE, over 100 pounds!! What a HEARTBREAKER. I felt real sorry for the guy, but I was kinda glad that it was over so we could begin the day. (it was already after 8am) Another highlight of the day was the only troll fish taken by my partner, Mr. Cody Koh. (on MY trolling outfit even. You dawg!!) It was a nice, 20 pound Dorado that ate the famous Rapala CD-18 mackerel pattern. A very good day indeed. The "Legend" is a very nice, fast boat and her crew was very helpfull. I would recommend Seaforth to anyone who is plannig a fishing trip out of S.D.

Rods "Bendo" with Bigeye Tuna. Too bad we didn't get one on deck!!
