Holiday Travel Tips For Idiots
I would like to take this opportunity to give you some travel tips to make your holiday safe and enjoyable for ALL!!

1)  Understand that you are not the only one traveling this holiday season, please be considerate of others who are also traveling, as well those in line in front of you at the service station.

2)  If you should pull into a service station after dark, and are asked to prepay, be a sport, its not all about you, also, hanging up your pump, and driving over to a different one does not change the fact that you will have to prepay.

3)  If you drive a truck powered by a diesel engine, congratulations, you do not need to fuel where the 18 wheelers do to prove that you are indeed a man, however, most stations will have an area just for the little guys like you to go and fuel.  Do not deceive yourself into thinking that truckers like being held up while you power trip, they don't.

4)  If you insist on fueling where the big trucks do, please realize that you will need to follow the same procedures that the trucks do, you are in their fueling area after all.  Many stations need a deposit, some form of ID, ect... before your pump can be turned on and yes in most cases you will need to communicate with the diesel desk attendant before your pump will be turned on. If you wanted your pump turned on automatically, then you should go and fuel on the AUTO side where you belong.

5)  If you had to stand in line for the bathroom, and when you got there realized that you were held up because someone was cleaning it, before bitching at the manager, please ask yourself if you indeed wanted to use a dirty bathroom.

6)  Make all purchase decisions before getting in line, you most likely will not be very liked by anyone when you get to the register, and send your kid, who even you know will take forever, to get "that thing" that you can't even tell the cashier what it is, making everyone else wait while the kid comes back to tell you they couldn't find "that thing" and has you wander around the store to get it.  If you read this and it didn't make sense, realize that it doesn't make sense when it happens in real life either.

7)  When in line, please do not use your cellphone.  In some cases it has been know to crash service station register systems.  It also holds up the cashiers who are trying to communicate with you. You are in line with a group of strangers, you do not have a need to look important, you will never see any of these people again.

I hope these travel tips help you, please be safe out there!!
