Threatened by a Shark

One day when Ruth and I were vacationing on the peaceful island resort of Virgin Gorda, I was wading hip deep in a secluded white sand cove, alone. All of a sudden, I heard a splashing sound and saw a large school of fish in shallow water almost on land. The curious sight intrigued me, and I couldn't understand the reason for it. I started splashing myself, to see if it would frighten the little fish away. Instead, I got the fright of my life as a six-foot shark whipped around me in a tight circle, apparently mistaking my splashing hands for one of the little fish it had herded to the beach!

Believe me, I stayed as still as a statue for about two hours, and received a badly sunburned stomach, until I summoned up the nerve to go ashore. The little fish left before I did!
