Still No Fish : (

>March 2001<

Nothing fishy to report so far; most lakes are out of bounds due to foot and mouth disease. But James S. was awarded several Awards at Newton Abbot Fishing Associations annual prize giving evening. Mostly for his match fishing exploits but he was also awarded "Best Junior Angler of the Year". This was apparently for his match and carp fishing results, and also for being an ambassador for the fishing club. Well Done James!

>Sunday 25th February<

James S. fished local lignite pit West Golds; which contains a few big river carp (they get in through a canal thing!). Still looking for that elusive 20lb River Carp. He'll have to keep looking though 'cos the pond was covered in ice and he had to fish a hole in the ice (the only hole!), he blanked! Although our respect goes out to him 'cos he abandoned a static buzzer approach & opted for freelining a bait; feeling for bites (Get the Fox SX's out James!)

>Monday 19th February<

James S. and John H. recently fished Abbrook clay Pit for 26hrs. John Enjoyed a common of 11lb 5oz and James lost 2 Bream under the net (which he was thankful about 'cos he hates unhooking them at night; slime and all!).

>Saturday 17th February<

Terry F. has recently fished Exeter Canal over night for carp (dodgy enough as it is; drunks, tramps, and general w*nkers). Had a very nice uncaught Common Carp of 22lb 5oz in the morning. Soaked Mainline Active-8 pop-up did the damage using a critically balanced line aligner. This is a very good fish from the Canal!
