| Bergle Records was founded by technical genius Jerrod "Bean" Cole, master lyricist Jesse "Cisco" Steck, and guitar guru Steve "Snarflord" Renner. Combining their broad expanse of musical interest and knowledge with their own creativity, sense of humor, and contempt for all things mainstream, they sought to change the general public's perception of music. Early demos were recorded in Bean's apart- ment, with Bean and Cisco singing Sublime's Boss DJ and Mary a cappella. Later, instrumental versions of What I Got, Caress Me Down, and Doin' Time were acquired, and the quality of the demos subsequently rose. The first public performance by a Bergle Records group was made in April of 2001, when Snarflord, Cisco, and Bower united to form "The Bovine Humidors," a group which featured Steve on guitar, with vocals by Bower and Cisco, and percussion by Cisco on a large metal ashtray. This unre- hearsed performance was held on the sidewalk on State Street in Millville, PA. Profits from the show totaled fifteen cents from an estimated five spectators. Bergle Records took another huge step in 2001, when Cisco and Bean both began to learn guitar. Although only beginning as guitarists, both continue to show great potential. Cisco is credited with writing and composing the first original Bergle Records song, the enigmatic "Nothing Yet," which maintained its status as a local party favorite for two glorious weeks. Currently, the Bergle Records crew are attempting to put together a pickup band for the highly anticipated "Barbecue 2002," which is slated to take place at the Steck residence in June 2002. |
