The Man Behind the Character
Anthony Hopkins was already a successful actor before 1990, but it was his turn as the cultured, cannabalistic Dr. Hannibal Lecter that gave his career the jolt it needed and caused millions to become familiar with his name. Unfortunately, I have never met him in person, although I did have a rather unexpected encounter while visiting London...

There's a scary picture of me in here, so if you don't want to know, don't go any furthur down. *grin*
An unexpected encounter...Real? I wish. No, this Anthony is a permanent resident of Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum in London, although the set of dinner clothes he is wearing belonged to the real Hopkins...My what a serious expression you have, Mr. Hopkins...
I knew you'd ask about this one. Am I seeing double? No, Anthony Hopkins describes his meeting with his twin as quite an experience. The more the merrier, I say!
Some quick facts about Hopkins learned at the museum:

--A melancholy child, Tony would often contemplate suicide by throwing himself in woodland streams
--Hopeless in school, he wanted to be an actor after seeing Richard Burton drive by in a Jaguar
--His party trick at school was drinking ink
--His first wife described him as a "Chilean dictator"
--After completing 14 films in a few years, Tony drove 5000 miles across America in his Jeep in order to meet "ordinary people"
--If he gets bored at dinner parties, he leaves the table and goes to bed

In case you were wondering, I memorized all of them from a book in the gift shop.
