About

Survival is an action/adventure game and the sequal to Imagination World, another project being made with Eduke32. Continuing on the storyline, the main character James is stranded on a bizarre alien planet with many strange and dangerous lifeforms. James traverses the planet aimlessly until he learns of a Temple deep underground which could hold the solution to his current situation. You as the player take control as James as he battles his way across the planet, making new friends and enemies along the way whilst trying to Survive on this strange planet.

Survival's gameplay is similar to that of many FPS, however Survival takes many elements from RPGs as well. There are no stats in this game, however unlike many FPS games which have a 'set' of weapons in which you find over and over again, each weapon in Survival is unique in that it only appears once in the game. There are multiple types of each weapon, and you can easily replace your current shotgun with a different one if you locate it, however it's up to you to find out which ones you prefer. Once you complete the game, you can play through again in a 'New Game+' mode similar to games like Chrono Trigger and Resident Evil 4 where you start with the equipment you finished with. Thorughout multiple playthroughs you can fine tune your selection of weapons to whatever you wish. You can also collect different armour during the game, each with specific advantages and disadvantages over each other. Armour also raises your maximum health levels, so a player who likes to wade into enemies will fit right into a strong suit of armour, whereas players who like to avoid combat will like armour that gives you a speed advantage.

News

27th Febuary 2007

If anybody is still checking this site in the dim hope of an update, thanks for keeping faith! As shown by my yearly update of the IW site, I suck at remembering to update the sites. Unfortunately seeing a site updated months ago often feels like the kiss of death for mods, but that's not the case here. We'll deliver to you guys eventually. In other news, Mikko Sandt has kindly supplied a host for the early Survival v2 beta, so if you've had trouble getting that you can grab it now (Thanks Mikko!)
