Zeta Alpha Alumni Newsletter-Feb. 2008

Brothers: June is fast approaching, and I'm hoping everyone is making plans to attend the 16th annual golf outing! It will be held on Saturday June 7th at Tam-O-Shanter golf course in Hermitage PA. Even if you don't golf, everyone is welcome. Many in the past some who did not want to golf, just rented a cart, and have been part of the gallery. Others came later in the day, and joined the after golf tailgate party or dinner festivities. Either way, please consider joining us for this fun weekend.
During last years outing, some of you mentioned about getting hotel rooms closer to the golf course. Today I contacted The Radisson, Holiday Inn Express, and the Comfort Inn. All are withing a mile of the course. The Radisson and Express are booked for that Saturday night. The Express does have some suites available for that night, but the manager said it probably would not accommodate two guys comfortably. The Comfort Inn did have rooms available for both Friday and Saturday night. A two person room is around $89.00 plus tax. They do offer a 50+ mature traveler rate, which some of us now qualify for. Their phone number is 724-342-7200. The Comfort Inn website is at: www.comfortinn.com . If anyone makes reservations please let me know. This way I can steer everyone in the same direction. The other two hotels did say they may have some openings, ( cancellations) once that date gets closer.
In other news. I recently sent a copy of last months newsletter to National. It circulated around the offices, and a Ben Hill responded. He is director if undergraduate services at Theta Chi headquarters. He said it was good to know that we all stayed in contact with each other. He also wanted us to know about the Theta Chi Circle of Brotherhood-which is a social networking site similar to MYspace or Facebook, but is strictly for Theta Chi members. I've sign up,and its can of neat. If you want to join, click: thetachi.affinitycircles.com
In the last newsletter I mentioned the SRU Alumni Brick Campaign, and how your donations from last years outing bought bricks at the Slippery Rock Alumni house for our deceased brothers. I forgot to mentioned we also bought a brick for Bill Stucket.
Dan Van Wie was looking for information on brothers he had lost contact with. I helped him with some, and together we were able to find Ken Brasington and Jim Dibruno, but we're still looking for others. If you have any info about Gary Eckert, Gary Powell, or Tom Bradeis please email Dan ([email protected]).
Don Heisey checked in and has been added to our distribution list. Don sends greetings from Schwenksville PA, which is about 30 miles north of Philadelphia.
Finally Chuckie Boylan wanted a retraction from the last newsletter. Chuck was getting hate mail from other brothers about him hanging out on the Browns sidelines at a Steelers game in Cleveland. Chuckie states, for the record: He was working for the Steelers that day in charge of the game balls that only the Steelers offense uses (each team uses their own footballs when on offense - the Tom Brady rule of 2005 - in case you were unaware of this rule). His job was to provide a fresh game ball if and when a Steelers offensive play ended with the ball going out of bounds on that side of the field. What do you guys think?

Well that's it for this month's newsletter. Alma Mater first, and Theta Chi for Alma Mater Fraternally, Joseph S. Suprano (Alpha Gamma Pledge Class) Any questions or comments let me know. e-mail: [email protected]
