Coming from a plain and simple life on a farm in the southern hills
of Missouri, much of my childhood play time was spent roaming in
and through the beautiful pine trees. With imagination as my
constant companion, I learned to think with creativity. To create
something out of nothing,or to change the simple things that were
available to me, sparked my creative and artistic talents. I was
gently moved down a unique road in life where all of my training in
one form or another was blended with the talents God gave me.
To bring me to this point in my life, I am married of forty-five
years living in Grandview, Missouri just outside of Kansas City,
Missouri. I have with three children and four grandchildren, all of
whom bring me much joy.
I've done porcelain reproduction and modern dolls from
1980-1995. I began sculpting originals in 1990. And I did a limited
edition that was marketed by Doll Makers Originals International of
PA. I have completed many classes and seminars involving
painting techniques, hair styling, and body structures. Having had a
sculpting class with Hildegard Guenzel and Kuan Wu, who teaches
at the University of Kansas, and being a member of Midwest
Coalition of Original Doll Artists, in which I currently serve as
secretary, has allowed me the opportunity to learn from many
different artists.
