November 14 is a day to be celebrated with great pomp and show. The Loyola Teachers did not hesitate to do so. A Service was conducted praying for the well being of the students in the school and also for those all over the world. The Junior school ( LKG to IV) celebrated Children’s Day on November 12. There was a Drawing competition, picnic on the school ground and film show. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves. They too were given snacks.
A Dream come true performance was given by 10 students ( X to XII) at DNS F.R.I. this weekend (Nov.15 & 16). MASALA BENEFITS: These days it seems everything that is nice is bad for you. Good news then for lovers of spicy curry. A recent US University study has shown that capsaicin, the compound that makes chilli peppers hot, actively fights cancer of the pancreas, one of the most aggressive cancers, by triggering cancer cells to self-destruct.
In a separate study, curcumin,
found in the spice turmeric and lot f curry powders, was found to block a key
biological pathway needed for the development of melanoma and other cancers.
Curcumin was already known to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory
properties; this new finding might also help to explain why Indians have
significantly lower rates of colon, breast, prostate and lung cancer.(RD,
