Could we with ink the ocean fill,

Were the whole sky of parchment made;

Were every stalk on earth a quail

And every man a scribe by trade;

To write the love of God above

Would drain the ocean dry:

Nor could the scroll contain the whole,

Though stretch’d from sky to sky.

Apostle Paul and ‘PAULINE YEAR’ : PAUL was born as a Jew, at Tarsus, a city of Cicilia. His initial name was Saul. His father had acquired Roman citizenship, so Paul was a “Roman-at-Law”. He was brought up in the sect of the Pharisees. By trade he was a tent-stitcher because every Jew had to teach his son a trade by which he could live. At about age 14, he was sent to Jerusalem to learn under the top Jewish teacher Gamaliel in Jerusalem. There he learnt the law and the scripture. He became a self-righteous Pharisee and a patriotic zealot. St. Paul was a man of pride and loyal to his duty and citizenship. He was a man of great courage and adventure. He became a persecutor of Christians.

The one thing most people do know about St. Paul is that he underwent a dramatic conversion on the road to Damascus, In a revelation Jesus changed Saul to be Paul to proclaim his Gospel to Jews and Gentiles. The persecutor became messenger of Christ. He wrote 14 epistles. As Jesus directed, he remained some days in Damascus after his baptism, and then went to Arabia and returned with full spirit and began to preach in the synagogues that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. He was persecuted, imprisoned and tortured for the sake of Christ. He traveled tens of thousands of miles around the Mediterranean spreading the word of Jesus. Paul came up with the doctrine that would turn Christianity from a small sect of Judaism into a worldwide faith that was open to all. His untiring interest and affection for the church helped Christianity to grow widely. He was beheaded in Rome 64-67 AD during the persecution of Nero.

Paul’s life concentrated on Christ. “For me to live is Christ” Phil. 1:21. The ‘Pauline year’ will be from June 28, 2008 to June 29, 2009  marking the presumed 2000th anniversary of the Apostle’s birth. Feast days of St. Paul : January 25 (Conversion of St. Paul); February 10 (Shipwreck in Malta); June 29 (Feast of Sts. Peter & Paul; November 29 (Feast of the Dedication of the Basilicas of Peter and Paul.

Milk can avoid type 2 diabetes:  Consuming a pint of milk a day or eating yogurt could help to prevent conditions such as a Type 2 diabetes and heart disease, suggests nutritional horizon.com quoting a study published by Cardiff University, in which 15 per cent had metabolic syndrome, or insulin resistance.

The study found that men who drank a pint of milk or more a day were 62 percent less likely to have metabolic syndrome than those who drank and ate little or none. An expert at Diabetes UK, however, advised against consuming large amounts of full fat dairy products to prevent Type 2 diabetes and stressed the importance of a balanced diet and physical activity instead. Aspirin may fight cancer: Blood-thinning drugs such as aspirin may help fight cancer by denying shelter to wandering tumour cells, US researchers reported in a recent study. Experiments in mice showed that consuming aspirin with an experimental anti-clotting drugs slowed the growth and spread of breast and melanoma tumours. Blood cells called platelets shelter and feed tumour cells in the bloodstream, making it easier for cancer to spread, or metastasize, the research said. Writing in the Journal Cellular Biochemistry, researchers said inactivating platelets may help slow or prevent this spread. There is also some suggestion that taking aspirin or ibuprofen along with chemotherapy may make it more effective. (Indian Express)

MINORISTY STAUS CERTIFICATE for Educational Institutions: Minority Status Certificate is mandatory for all the institutions established and administered by the minority communities in India. It is necessary to have the certificate to claim the rights enshrined under Article 30 of the Constitution of India in matters of: 1) Appointment of heads of institutions; 2) Appointment of teachers in the institution; 3) Setting up a fee structure; 4) Setting up an admission policy; 5) Setting up a governing body; 6) Taking disciplinary action, etc.

Therefore it is highly recommended to have the Minority Status Certificate. Issuance of Minority Status Certificate to an educational institution is actually grant of recognition of minority status to the institution. This is done by a State Government under the relevant provision of its State Education Act or rules made there under. The legal basis of grant of recognition to an educational institution as a minority educational institution by a State Government flows from Article 30 of Constitution of India. Those Educational Institutions who do not have a Minority Status certificate should apply for it to the "competent authority" appointed by the State, in which that school is situated.  The certificate issued by such authority is valid. If the "competent authority" does not respond within 2 months, reminders should be sent.  If for some reason there is no "competent authority" in the State, or your application is rejected without valid reasons, or you do not receive any response within a period of three months, then you have to file an appeal to the National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions(NCMEI) at New Delhi. NCMEI is a quasi judicial body constituted by the Central Government, having the powers of a civil court. The decisions of NCMEI is final and binding. NCMEI is constituted with a Chairperson (Retd. Judge of a High Court) and two Members to the rank of Secretary of Govt of India.(They are Judges of NCMEI). If you have any doubt, please contact me at the earliest.
