And when with grief you see your brother stray

Or in a night of error lose his way,

Direct his wandering and restore the day.

To guide his steps afford your kindest aid

And gently pity whom you can’t persuade;

Leave to avenging heaven his stubborn will,

For, O remember, he’s your brother still. (Dean Swift)

42ND World Communications Day : 4th of May, 2008 will be observed internationally as the 42nd World Communications Day.(Cbcisite)

Assam Government Grants “Letter of Intent” to Salesians to Launch don Bosco University:  The Government of Assam has issued the Letter of Intent (LOI) to Don Bosco Educational Society of India to launch the Don Bosco University in Guwahati, capital of Assam.

The vision of Don Bosco University is to mould young persons into intellectually competent, morally upright, socially committed and spiritually inspired citizens at the service of India and the world of today and tomorrow, by imparting holistic and personalized education. (Cbcisite).

Morning Star College, Barrackpore : I had my last exam this morning. It was on the Gospel of St. Matthew. The professor was happy with the performance. Looking back at the academic year spent, it gives me a sense of satisfaction of having done well.
Now that the examinations are over, the mood of holidays has set in. Before we begin our summer vacation, we have a couple of programmes coming up; we have the Convocation for the 4th Year Theologians on Sunday, April 26 followed by a farewell programme for the outgoing students of both Philosophy and Theology.
The weather here is humid, and with the soaring temperature it becomes unbearably hot during the day.(Felix Anthony)

Holy Spirit College, Leuven: We have a fine weather now. The winter and rains extended a bit this year but now it is warmer and dry, people have begun farm work. They were worried earlier. The Secretariat of our Faculty delayed forwarding my thesis texts to the reading committee and as a result I have to suffer a delay of three weeks. I could have finished things by May end or early June and now it will be three weeks later. The Secretary did not send my text to the Indian Reader (a medical ethicist from Changanacherry Archdiocese) by speed post and so he received it only on April 21. This will not affect my plans. (John Crasta)

St. Patrick’s ,Fort Wayne: My main reason for writing is to give you some international news about Fr. Cyril Fernandes. Fr, Cyril was asked to participate in a local fundraising drive for our local Catholic radio station - Redeemer Radio(only 2 years old). He was given a 20 minute time slot to talk over the air live to ask for donations from his parish - St. Patricks Church in Arcola, Indiana. Fr. Cyril exceeded all previous parish donations by raising in excess of $14,600.00 US dollars from phone call pledges from his parishioners during his 20 minute time period. The radio station was overjoyed and would have loved to let him stay on the air live for six hours. We thought you might be able to use this information for your monthly newsletter.(Ron&Sue)

ATTENDTION : All the Schools and Parishes are requested to contribute  generously towards the HOLYCHILDHOOD - 2008 .. Those who haven’t yet submitted their mite with the Diocesan Treasurer, please do so immediately. We are asked by the National Office to send our support for PROPAGANDE FIDE and PONTIFICIUM  OPUS A SANCTA INFANTIA by the end of May, 2008. Please do co-operate.
