JAMSHEDPUR, INDIA

The race of  God’s anointed priests shall never pass away;

Before His glorious face they stand, and serve Him night and day.

Though reason roves, and unbelief flows on, a mighty flood,

There are, and shall be to the end, the hidden priests of God,

His chosen souls, their earthly dross consumed in sacred fire;

To God’s own heart their hearts ascend in flames deep desire;

The incense of their worship fills His Temple’s holiest place;

Their song with wonder fills the Heavens, the glad new song of grace.

India Home to Largest Number of Patients: WHO:  As per the World Health Organization or WHO’s Global Burden of Disease projections based on 2005 data, India is home to the maximum number of patients in the world.

The report shatters the ‘India shining’ image for according to it the situation in India is worse than that of Africa which too has been grappling with health issue for years.

However, Africa scores better than India for while 70% of deaths are due to communicable diseases, only 22% are from non-communicable disorders whereas in India 48% of deaths are caused by communicable diseases and 43% due to non-communicable diseases.

India is reeling under the curse of both communicable and non-communicable diseases. Coupled with this there is the burden of poverty in developing countries like India which contributes substantially to the poor health resulting in many diseases.

The Catholic Church has always been at the forefront in attending to the sick and the needy. (cbcisite)

Holy Spirit College, Leuven: I had nice Easter celebrations and ministry in Germany. I was very impressed by the very high attendance at the Holy Mass on Easter Monday. It was the liturgy prepared by the youth. The Deacon and I tried our best to contribute to this beautiful liturgy. Another significant event to take place these days was our visit to the Flower Show in Holland. It was mesmerizing to say the least! (John Crasta)

Morning Star College, Barrackpore: we are all busy these days with a slew of examinations. The last exam is scheduled for 27th April. We all had a very meaningful celebration of our Lord’s Resurrection. While our Philosophers had their Holy Week service in the seminary, I was out in the Parish where I go for my Pastoral Ministry, helping the Priest there as he was alone.

Summer vacation begins from 30th April. Some of our resident professors are transferred this year and some are going for higher studies. (Anthony Felix)
