The Annual Prize distribution on 6th May came to an abrupt ending due to a sudden downpour soon after the distribution of prizes by the chief guest Swami Atmaprabhananda Maharaj, the Secretary and Principal of Ramakrishna Vidyapeeth, Purulia. On 1st May, the Workers Day was celebrated by the students Council. It was well conducted and appreciated by our domestic staff. A team from Seva Kendra, Kolkata conducted a very enriching session on Life Skills Education for our whole staff. It was sponsored by the CRS Calcutta Archdiocese and the Government of West Bengal. Our senior students were exposed to a “Career by choice not chance” programme which was conducted by the institute for Career Studies, Lucknow. Accepting rent no bar for eviction of tenants:  “ Accepting rent after serving eviction notice does not mean that a landlord has decided against terminating the lease, the Supreme Court held today. A division bench headed by Justice B.P. Singh said mere acceptance of rent was not enough to prove that the landlord had waived the notice. Besides submitting the proof of the landlord accepting the rent, the tenant has to show some act that expresses or implies the landlord’s intention to treat the lease as subsisting, the court said”.
