He returned to St. Albert’s College , Ranchi in 1974 for the study of Theology.

Rector, Fr.W. Missiaen recommended Felix to Bishop Joe Rodericks for minor Orders with this remark“ Bro. Felix is a very good mixer. Has many friends. Devoted. Deals very well with ordinary people. Good organizer. Has common sense”. Fr.W. Missiaen has the following commend while nominating him to be a deacon “Felix is by far the most popular student of his year and may be of the whole theologate. Open. Good mixer. Many good qualities, very interested in social work. Very adibasi with the adibasis. Pious. However poor in studies. May be too much involved in all possible outside activities. Will make a good Priest”.

Bishop Basil D’Souza ordained Felix a Priest on May 11, 1978 at Milagres Church, Mangalore. Fr. C.R. Prabhu  represented Jamshedpur Diocese at the solemn Ordination . Fr. Felix D’Souza served the diocese in various capacity. He was an Associate Pastor at Sacred Heart Church, Adra, Christ the King Church, Chakradharpur, Our Ldy of Nativity Church, Sini, St. Anthony’s Church, Dhanbad, St. Theresa’s Church, Sindri. He was  Parish Priest at St. Robert’s Church, Parsudih, Our Lady of Nativity Chjurch, Sini, St. Paul’s Church, Maluka, Jisu Marsal, Chandil, and St. Theresa’s Church, Sindri . He was Minister at Pratiksha, Minor Seminary and finally at the Bishops’ House waiting for appointment when the Bishop returns. He went to St. Mary’s Parish , Omra to help in the pastoral ministry . He was having fever for a few days and Fr. Paulus and the Nurse wanted to bring him to the hospital but he preferred the village atmosphere. On July 23, he was brought to Mercy hospital in a serious condition. He was admitted to the ICU and was feeling better according to his own words. On Saturday, 24 early morning his condition got worsened and went for his eternal reward while receiving the Sacrament of the sick. He was talking to the sisters even at 4.00 a.m. The medical report states that he died of cardio respiratory arrest due to Diabetic Ketoacidocis , falciparum malaria & multi organ failure. The doctors felt that he was suffering from jaundice and had high blood pressure.

The funeral Service was held at the Cathedral on July 29, at 3.00 p.m. Bishop Felix Toppo, S.J. presided at the solemn concelebrated Eucharist and assisted by Bishop Joe Rodericks , S.J. and 90 plus Priests . Fr. Joseph Surin, S.J. had the liturgy beautifully planned. Mr. Richard Sarky gave a brief life history of Felix and then Bishop Joe Rodericks blessed the body . The choir was beautiful and they indeed had taken much trouble to come for the practices for 3 days. Fr. Fr. C.R. Prabhu , who invited Felix to be a missionary in Jamshedpur Diocese mesmerized the gathering with his beautiful and thoughtful words. After the communion, Bishop Felix Toppo said the valedictory prayers and the clergy recited Psalm 51. Soon after the community paid individual respect to Fr. Felix in the church, the body was taken to the beautifully decorated ambulance for the final journey towards Beldih cemetery. The traffic police and the volunteers guided the numerous vehicles to pass on smoothly. The parking arrangements were well done by the volunteers beside the Sacred Heart Convent School. The clergy carried the body from the forecourt of the cemetery to the beautiful tent at the grave. Bishop Felix Toppo blessed the grave and the body was lowered. All prayed together and sang praises to the Almighty for the gift of Felix for Jamshedpur Diocese.

The Diocese is grateful to all the people who cared for Felix while in ministry, in sickness and at the final journey to Beldih.

There were 17 persons from the family of Felix come from Mangalore, Mumbai, Jhansi etc. A special Mass in Konkani was celebrated at the graveside on 30 morning by Fr. Leo and other 14 Priests together with the family members .

We pray the Almighty to shower abundant blessings on each one of us through the intercession of our Friend and Brother, Fr. Felix D’Souza.
