This is the taste of Cincinnati.  Here are some great restaurants to visit, if have the money and you get a chance.  I have categorized them by frugality.
Expensive
Everyday
Cheap
Asian Cheap
The Precinct - the best steaks in Cincinnati.  It makes a huge dent in the pocket book but the best service, steak, and wine make it seem like a bargin.
P.F. Chang's - They surprised me by being both an American specialty restaurant and Chinese cuisine shop, but still good at both.  I liked their selection of wines but the service was ordinary.
Montgomery INN - I cannot stress enough to wear a bib.  It is an excellent place to dine with family-owned atmosphere yet still classy all around.  The ribs are definitely not to be missed.
Grand Finale - Its been a while since I ate there, but I still remember it.  Great for formal dinners and a nice bar uptop to keep you busy while you wait for a table.  No reservations taken, but it may be worth the wait.
Mayura's - The chicken raja is unrivaled as an Indian dinner.  Highly recommended especially if you like spice.  Swami, the owner, is friendly but pure business.
BW3's - Excellent wings and good ole American burgers.  You get really greasy at the end, but your stomach is guaranteed to be filled.
Cody's Cafe - Also and internet coffee shop, the decor works well in the retro-trendy area near UC.  Just everyday  American style food, so definitely go for the atmosphere.
Pacific Moon - Well, this place is only expensive if you eat a lot.  The Dim Sum is alright, nothing special.  However, ever Asian has been there and its in a great location.
Lu Lu's - Everyone knows of its great noodles and soups, but their family atmosphere and setting make the shop very west coast chic.  Too bad it doesn't open Sundays though.
Penn Station - Guess what?  This is Cincinnati's best kept secret.  The philly cheese steaks come close to the original and I could never get enough of the fries.
Mr. Jim's Steakhouse - A UCincinnati favorite.  Though oddly located in a tent, it still houses the best steak/soup combo for a very inexpensive price.  The staff always try to please their customers, and it is greatly appreciated.
Kaldi's Cafe - Although its mainly a coffee shop, it still has some great eats especially if its late at night and you need a bite.  The surrounding shelves of books make it more interesting.
Gold Star Chili - Its truely the best chili in Cincinnati, though skyline has the better name.  Its a decent meal, but it won't fill you up.  Not recommended for the lactose intolerant.
China Garden Buffet - There's a reason why Chinese people keep coming back, and its not just the price.  The food is actually good for a buffet though the selection not so great.
House of Sun II - I really don't know if its cheap or not.  I've never paid for it.  Hai-ling's mom is so cool she doesn't ever want me to pay and its some good food, especially since it's a bunch of Mexicans cooking in the back.
