first team
steve young, qb, the berserkers -- 290 points in 15 weeks
with some changes in the scoring system, we've closed the gap between the scoring of quarterbacks and the other positions in the league. still, quarterbacks rule. and this year, steve young was better than any other. 36 passing tds, 6 rushing.

terrell davis, rb, collard greens -- 227 points in 16 weeks
no running back has dominated like this since emmitt smith in 1995. 21 rushing tds and 2 receiving made t.d. a fantasy force this year.

jamal anderson, rb, collard greens -- 128 points in 12 weeks
jamal could have had more points than this if certain owners would have realized what they had sitting on their bench. he had 16 total tds and narrowly beat out rookie fred taylor for first team honors. amazingly, jamal played for 3 tffl teams this season -- the bottlerockets and jayhawks being the others.

randy moss, wr, collard greens -- 189 points in 16 weeks
owners cried when the collards took "da freak" in the 6th round of tffl draft -- and rightly so. the deep ball was the main weapon of the record-setting minnesota vikings this year, and moss was at the receiving end 17 times. jerry rice was the wide receiver to have for years, now it looks like randy moss will take his spot.

antonio freeman, wr, the weathermen -- 165 points in 16 weeks
if not for moss, this guy would be the bomb. not that he didn't perform up to expectations -- 14 tds is very studly. it's a good thing for everyone (except for batcho) the bottlerockets didn't have him -- the favre-to-freeman hookup meant league title in tffl's first two years.

joey galloway, wr, the jayhawks -- 129 points in 16 weeks
well, there's moss, freeman and the rest. joey's the best of the rest, racking up 12 tds in '98. he did all this despite the quarterback troubles in seattle and having to deal with switching tffl teams (berserkers to jayhawks) in the middle of the season.

shannon sharpe, te, carolina killers -- 85 points in 16 weeks
sure, tight ends aren't going to decide who wins the league. shannon can hold his own with the league's best wrs, though -- he pulled in 10 tds for the killers. no other tight end was close this year.

gary anderson, k, the gamblers -- 161 points in 15 weeks
john kasay once dominated tffl, in part because of an over-inflated kicking scoring system. imagine what anderson would have done with 9 points for a 46+ fg, 6 for 31-45, 4 for 1-30 and 2 for an extra point. maybe that's a bit much, but this guy did just fine this year. a perfect season -- 35-35 on fgs, 59-59 on extra points.

seahawks defense, the jayhawks -- 124 points in 10 weeks
they tied with the dolphins points wise, but they get the benefit of the doubt because they started 3 fewer weeks. they feasted on interceptions and sacks, winning two stud of the week honors.

second team
brett favre, qb, the bottlerockets -- 260 points in 16 weeks
fred taylor, rb, hominy swampers -- 126 points in 11 weeks
marshall faulk, rb, carolina killers -- 117 points in 16 weeks
cris carter, wr, the bottlerockets -- 114 points in 16 weeks
jimmy smith, wr, collard greens -- 110 points in 15 weeks
keyshawn johnson, wr, the gamblers -- 109 points in 16 weeks
rickey dudley, te, the jayhawks -- 39 points in 14 weeks
jason elam, k, the berserkers -- 123 points in 15 weeks
dolphins defense, the weathermen -- 124 points in 13 weeks

third team
randall cunningham, qb, the jayhawks -- 247 points in 12 weeks
emmitt smith, rb, hominy swampers -- 114 points in 14 weeks
garrison hearst, rb, the bottlerockets -- 113 points in 15 weeks
terrell owens, wr, the weathermen -- 108 points in 13 weeks
eric moulds, wr, carolina killers -- 102 points in 13 weeks
jerry rice, wr, t-bird2 -- 101 points in 15 weeks
wesley walls, te, the weathermen -- 39 points in 16 weeks
jason hanson, k, carolina killers -- 112 points in 14 weeks
broncos defense, t-bird2 -- 112 points in 16 weeks
