September 1996 :
Eiga-Shi

Eiga Shi by Akira Kurosawa. Eiga means Cinema, which ofcourse the field that Mr. Kurosawa has excel all his lifetime. Shi means the eye that bridge to the past and the eye the eye that bridge to the future. "With Eiga-shi, Kurosawa has not so much designed a Cinema Special as he painted one! His watch depicts the human eye, in wide open form, as the central image in its design. Representative of the filmmaker himself, the eye simbolizes artis artistic vision along with unblinking humor and wisdom. Framed with blue, red, and gold, the face reveals time through its core, the pupil." (taken from Swatch ad.)
