Hurricanes Frances and Jeanne
Damage to garden
September, 2004
Frances was 100 mph
Jeanne was 125 mph
This photo shows where the entrance to the garden was.
The trellis and fence withstood both hurricanes. This is from hurricane Frances. The sea grape (background-right) was removed before Jeanne arrived.  Jeanne took the palm tree on the left. The row of trees in the background were hundreds of ficus trees. They are all laying down and have been removed. That may look like trees, but those are roots.

Hurricane Frances
Bird houses.
The picture is grainy because it was taken through the pool screen enclosure. Jeanne did more damage. Trees in background had to be removed.
After the first hurricane, Frances, the bougainvellia was a tangled mess and had to be removed.
Front of house with debri from the  back garden. It was all cleared and along came Jeanne.
What a relief when these Washingtonian palms went down without hitting our house on the left and the neighbor's on the right.
Carter, a little wet and a little tired after the storm, assessing the damage.
Workshop area. Notice the pots on the right. Both hurricanes left them stacked in their place.
