A Day at the Park...

Another hot Saturday...what to do?

Where to go...when, most importantly, the kids and I are broke...ahhhh, they had been riding me to go to the "park with the tires that spin," translated being Northside Park in Norfolk. So, we loaded up and headed down Tidewater Drive.

First, on the way there, we saw this truck with all the stuffed daisies attached to it. Katryn insisted I take a picture!!!

The tire swings used to be real, black rubber...now smaller and blue plastic.

They spin real fast.

Faster than most amusement park rides.

So fast, in fact, that our day out was cut short.

The kids kept spinning and spinning and spinning...

around, around, and around...

That they both got sick. I mean a serious case of motion sickness...Katryn was almost in tears. We returned home afterwards and she was laid out for like an hour, then fine, just as crazy and demented as her norm, but the swings definitely did some damage to their delicate constitutions.

Before we left, they spun more on the itty bitty merry-go-round. Cool looking park though. Lots of big old trees...

again...round

and round...

and Dad goes round while Christian takes a blurry picture.

however, gets my back in focus...

then finishes strong with more x-treme blurriness...

Katryn climbs the USS Bainbridge cannon

Climbing higher...

then take a break...

And an uncomfortable looking picture with her brother...

who finds the only way out of the USS Bainbridge....

is by walking the plank...
