Begin Rant:
I am a fan of NSYNC. I am a big fan of NSYNC. In fact, I am one of the biggest fans of NSYNC you would ever meet. But that's all I am. Is a fan. Let's define fan:
Fan., n. an enthusiastic follower of some sport, hobby, person, etc.
Let's define crazy:
Crazy., adj. mad, insane, foolish, ridiculous, unsound, madly in love with.
Put those two words together and you get Crazy fan. Reading the definitions of these two words, makes it kinda scary knowing that there are people that fit that description loving, following, and stalking NSync.
Nsync is here to put out music. That's what they love doing. That's their job. That's what we should like them for. The music. Not because they're "hot," or because you and Justin's horoscope's say you were meant to be together, or because you fit the description of what JC's dream girl is. They are a musical group.
It really pisses me off when I meet fans like this. When you ask them what their favorite thing about NSync is, and they answer "Because they're SO HOT!!!" Why? I'll tell you. Why would you like a musical group because they're hot, and not because of their talent? They're not here to be "hot."
Let's go back up to the beginning where I mentioned the definitions of crazy and fan. Imagine an "insane follower of NSync." Imagine an "unsound follower of NSync." Scary huh? There are people out there that follow them EVERYWHERE. Why? What's the point? They're surrounded by security just for that reason. And that makes me sad. They have to go out, surrounded by protection to eat, shop, be tourists. Because of YOU, they can't have a moment's peace where they can just go out, like a normal person, and have a bite to eat. If they do, they'll get mobbed by a thousand fans. How would that make you feel? You're standing in line at McDonald's, and 10 people walk up to you and ask you for your autograph. You're trying to eat, and another 20 people walk up and ask if they can have a picture with you. A normal half hour trip to eat would take you two hours.
Their invasion of privacy is getting out of hand. It's sad that their parents have to move, change their phone numbers, build fences, and get security, just because their kids are famous. People sit on Lance's parent's lawn and pick the grass! WHAT'S THE POINT? Are you going to frame it? Bronze it? Put it in a bag and hang it on your wall? Grass is grass. Get over it. I'll admit, I have Lance's home phone number. Have I called it? No. But, I gave it to one of my friends, she called it, and got told off over the phone. I wonder why. I had Joey's voicemail number. Did I call it? Yes, I called it, but only left a message once, telling him what a big fan of their's I was. I called it back one time, and he had a new message on there, telling whoever it was that kept leaving messages, to stop, because he wasn't going to call them back. I called back again a while later, and it was disconnected. Joey had to change his voicemail number because some "crazy fan" wouldn't stop calling him.
Another problem along the same lines is the fans calling their hotel rooms at 2:00 in the morning. Do you realize how hard these five guys work? They wake up at 5:00 a.m., go to photoshoots, interviews, and rehearsals all day. They perform dance filled concerts for us almost on a daily basis. They go back to the hotel, probably around 12:00 in the morning, and go to sleep, only to be woken up by a crazed fan wanting to hear their voice. Come on. They DON'T derserve this. They do SO much for us fans, and that's what they get in return? If that's the case, I SURE don't ever wanna be famous...
NSync have girlfriends. Get over it. They're guys. In their 20's. Most men their age would be married and have a family by now. It's perfectly normal for them to have someone special in their lives. Justin and Britney are going out. I say, good for them. If they're happy together, I'm happy for them. Joey has a girlfriend. Her name is Kelly. Joey is my favorite NSyncer. Do I think Kelly is a bitch? No. What right would I have calling her a bitch because she's in love with someone I admire? JC has a girlfriend. Her name is Bobbie. Is she a slut? No. Chris and Dani just broke up because of personal reasons. I hope all you "crazy fans" out there are happy. I've seen hate pages for these girls. I'll bet anyone any amount of money that's why Chris and Dani broke up. She was sick of being called a bitch, and a slut, and a whore, and a hoochie, just because she was in love with someone from a famous group. I don't blame her. It's a shame. I've seen pages that are dedicated to breaking up these couples. They're called things like "Beat the NSync Bitches" and "NSync Girlfriend Sluts." It's UNCALLED for. You have NO RIGHT calling someone you don't even know, names like that. What is a slut and a whore? They're people who sell themselves for money. Do you really think they do that? NO. Quit judging them. Or, I'll go to a message board, and see a thread titled "Justin and Britney." I'll go inside, and what do I see? "I can't believe Justin is dating that SKANK. He is MINE. Britney is such a whore." And replies that say things like "I know!!! She is such a BITCH!!" You call these girls bitches, because they just happen to be in love with someone you think you're in love with? Nuh uh. Reality check. You WILL NEVER get to be the girlfriend of one of the NSync guys. The chances of that happening, are slim to none, and if you're under the age of 18, there ISN'T a chance. You think JC is going to date a 16 year old? I doubt it. Snap out of your dreams. Instead of thinking of a plot to kill these girls, why don't you be happy for them? Be happy that these 5 guys have girlfriends, and have the chance to start a family.
I once read an article, where a reporter asked Joey where he got the scratch on his face. His reply was that a fan did it, trying to touch his hair. How sad is that? Again, put yourselves in their places. Walking through a group of hundreds of girls, all grabbing at you, pulling your hair, pulling your clothes, screaming in your ear. That's my idea of fun. Their health is in danger in this profession, and it's mainly because of the fans. Lance once collapsed on stage, and was rushed to the hospital because he was overworked. Now, I am not blaming that on the fans, it's merely an example. But Joey got a scratch on his face. What else could these fans do besides a scratch? A lot I bet..
Justin is being sued, because he didn't want to sign a girl's autograph. How RIDICULOUS is that? This man does HOW MUCH for us?? And he is being SUED because he was too tired to sign an autograph, and his BODYGUARDS yelled at her. REAL devoted fan. Yeah.
Now, before someone jumps on my case, saying, "Hey! I'm not like that!! I like NSync for the music!!" Let me say this. I never said all NSync fans were like this. I've met plenty of mature fans. But, I've met many crazy ones too. I've read stories online about them. I've heard these stories come out of the guy's mouths.
When these fans meet NSync, they scream, jump on them, start crying, faint. Why? These are five normal guys. They sleep, eat, burp, fart, cry, shower, go to the bathroom, but, they have a talent. They can sing. Is that any reason to act the way you do? If I ever met NSync, I'd probably be shy as hell. I might tear up a little, ask for their autographs, and say thank you. I've often put myself in a situation. If I saw a member of NSync shopping at a grocery store, would I walk up to them and ask them for a picture or an autograph? And without much hesitation, I said no. Let them shop. I wouldn't want some one walking up to me and doing that when I was shopping. The Eminem song "The Way I Am" pretty much sums up my feelings for the way they're treated.
Yes, I own a lot of NSync merchandise, which might mean on my part, that I possibly might not just like them for the music. That's not the way I feel. Hell, I didn't even buy most of it. I buy the CD's, and the magazines. My parents, friends, and grandma all buy it for me.
Yes, I think the guys of NSync are good looking. But that's not the reason I like them. If I were blind, I would like them. If they were dead ugly, and still had the voices they do now, I would like them.
Overall, I think the guys in NSync are treated like SHIT. They do so much for us, sacrifice so much for us, and what do they get in return? Their hair pulled on, their clothes pulled on, being woken up at 2:00 in the morning, getting screamed at, getting their girlfriends called bitches, passing out on stage, having security go with them wherever they go so they're not mobbed, not having a personal life. Next time you think about pulling on Justin's hair, or camping out at their hotel, put yourself in their shoes.
And to all those fans out there who aren't like this? I thank you. You realize what these guys are really here for.
