Militia fought in War of 1812-moved to Pendelton County, VA �Sweedlin Valley�-across the Shenandoah Mountain from Brocks Gap.
In 1816, Balser married Anna Christina Mitchell. In the 1850 Pendelton County, WVA Census-Balser and Anne were 58 years old and their Children-Isabella-age 27, Ephraim age 23, Eliza age 20 and John age 27 lived with them.Simon-age 25 and Alexander age 32 had already established their homes next to their parents.
In the 1860 Pendelton County Census-Balser was 68 years old-a farmer and his son, Simon and his family were living with him-his wife had already died.
