The Andromeda Galaxy also known as the M31 by astrologers is the nearest galxy to the Milky Way (the galaxy where we live in). M31 is also a spiral galaxy. This is a kind of galaxy that looks like a spiral. The Andromeda Galaxy is about 4 times the size of the Milky Way. Together with the Milky Way, they make up some of the larger galaxies in the Local Group of Galaxies. Though scientists say Local, it takes M31, 2 million light years before the stars light's reaches Earth. Much of the galaxy still a mystery to current scientists. Even though it is so far away from us, it is still the closest galaxy for us to study.
