SDQG President Kim Lockwood welcomes you to the SDQG meetings.

For the Friday Night Social on April 20, 2001 we will gather in the area adjacent to the new Amphitheatre in the Ramkota Pierre, SD at 7:00 p.m.. Sharon Peterson, "The Hat Lady, will present a program at 7:30. She will come with more than 100 hats, and will tell the history of hats beginning with her grand-mother's 1880 sunbonnet.

Our Featured Teacher is Helen Kelley of Minneapolis, MN. Helen has been quilting most of her life, and enjoys using old techniques in a new way. She has written four books, and was featured in Oxmoor House's "Quilt With the Best". She is robably best known for her monthly column "Loose Threads" in Quilter's Newsletter Magazine. Helen was honored as the 1995 Fiber Artist of Distinction by the Minnesota Fiber Metal Council, and was the first president of the Minnesota Quilters's Guild.
