First of all, don't try to jump anything unless you are really comfortable with the bike. Be sure that you can fling the bike around and that you don't feel intimidated by it and that you don't feel any bit of nervousness on it. Secondly, start small, don't go out and try to jump a big, tall jump. Start with maybe a 2 foot high, 8 foot long jump, also where protective gear such as a helmet, maybe some elbow and knee pads.
When you are sure that you feel comfortable, approach the jump as fast as you can and don't stop pedalling until your front tire hits the face of the jump, as soon as you stop pedalling, pull up as hard as you can, and trust me you will not fall back unless you don't know your own strength. when you are in the air do not close your eyes, I repeat DO NOT close your eyes, and also if you are sure that you will make it, when you are over the middle of the jump, very lightly, push down on the front end. If all goes well you should have a smooth landing, if not keep trying and practice, you'll get it, I promise. By the way if you happen to break something, which is HIGHLY unlikely, don't blame me. |
