Tom appears to have an inexhaustible supply of screwup juice, but always seems to come out on top. How does he do it?

This Discovery appears to enjoy being in water. It seems best to point out that this is not the Discovery Tom's mother owns, nor has that vehicle been in any way distant from tarmac, apart from the kerbs in Brislington Park and Ride. Any similarity in appearance, character or chassis number is purely coincidental.
