The Wilcox Property, on the bluff at left, was recently preserved as open space by an expensive and very close vote. It's now called the Douglas Family Preserve. Actor Michael Douglas helped to buy it for the public, and named it for the family as a gift to his pappa Kirk on his 80th birthday.
