How to perform Salaat
Text in red is only for starting the namaz
Text in blue is recited throughout the namaz
Text in purple is recited only when ending a rakaat or namaz
1. Make intention:
I intend to pray (2,3,4) rakaat (fard, sunaat) of salaatul (Fajr, Zohoor, Asr, Maghrib, Isha) for Allah facing al-Ka'abah
2. Say du'a:
Soobhana kulla humma, wa'a beehumdikka, wa'a tubarook kussmooka, wa'a tooalla'a jadooka wa'allah illaha, ghairook
3. Do thakbeer (raise your hands to your ears) and say:
Allah hu akbar
4. Fold your hands over your abdomen (men) or your chest (women) and recite suraatul Fatehah:
Allhumduh lillaha rabil al ameen, Ar-rahman nir raheem. malikee yomideen. Iyaka na'a boodoo, wa'a iyaka nusta'aeen. Ihh deenuss, siraltull mustakeen. Sratull a zeena , aan amta, alaihim ghairill maghdoobee, alaihim wala'adualeen, Ameen.
5. Say any surah next
6. Say Allah hu akbar, Bend over at the hips, with both hands on your knees, and repeat the following 3 times:
Subha'ana rabi al-azeem
7. Say Allah hu akbar Stand back upright, with hands at your side and say:
Saami allah huliman hamidah, rabin al-akaal hamd
8.Say Allah hu akbar and get into the saajdah position (sitting on your knees, with hands and forehead touching the floor), and repeat the following three times:
Subha'ana rabi al-allah
9. Say Allah hu akbar and sit upright. Pause for a few seconds, and say Allah hu akbar and get back into saajdah position and repeat Subha'ana rabi al-allah 3 times again.
10. If it is the first rakaat, say Allah hu akbar and start from step 4 again.If it is the second rakaat of a namaz that has three or four rakaats, say the following:
Atha heeathoo lillahai wassal awatoo, wathayibathoo, assalamaliaka ayoohanabeeyu warahmathullahai wabarakatu. assalamalaina wa'allah ibadhillah isswaliheen. ash haduallah, la' illahah illala la hu ashhaduanna muhammad ar-rasullullah
Then proceed to say Allah hu akbar and start again from step 4. If it is the final rakaat of the namaz, say the above sura'a and add the following to the end:
Allah humma salli allah muhammadin wa'allah alih muhammadin kama sayeeta allah ibraheema wa'allah alih ibraheema innaka hameedun ajeeb.
Allah humma barak allah muhammadin wa'allah alih muhammadin kama barakta allah ibraheema wa'allah alih ibraheema innaka hammeddun ajeeb.
to complete the namaz, while you are still on your knees, look to your right and say Assalamualaikum warakhmatullahai wabarakatuhu, then look to your left and say the same.
