ability to speak perfect english to him. Then I will teach him the best I can.
I clear my throat to get his attention.
"Eeeeeeeee! Eee ee eeee ee." I squeal.
What am I thinking I can't speak at all. I just squeal like a pig sitting on a cattle brander. Oh well. Maybe I can teach him some other way.
"Hey you's want me to plays some of my musics? I knows lot of song I's really do."
I listened to him play his "musics" as he called them. As we went downtown to eat, I remembered the body I had to step over to go find Sam. I wondered if it was just a random body or actually a murder victim. I suspected foul play. I decided to take Sam to help me find out.
When we got to the body, it was still dead. It looked like it had not moved for a while. He was stiff as...well as a dead body. I hopped out of Sam's pocket. I leaned down to see small clues. There were none. Then Sam found a piece of plastic. It had blood on it, but there was no blood on the body. Just the plastic. I wonder how that is possible. Maybe more investigation will tell.
"You reckon that he was important. He may be one of them there businesses type. He looks smarts. Not like me. I's not that smart."
I tried to console poor Sam with a compassionate, "EEEEEEEeeeeEee!"
"Thanks buddys. I's know I isn't all thats dumb. I just wishes I could be smarters. I makes me proud sometime when I's help peoples. They's nice to me most of the time."
I nearly broke into tears. Then I remembered I was a spider monkey and I didn't couldn't. I have decided that after we solve this murder, I will do my best to help poor Sam.
I ran up to Sam's arm and tried to make him play his music box. I had a plan. Maybe his music would annoy someone in the area and they would come outside. Then we could talk to them. See if they witnessed anything. He began playing. A large balding man stuck his head out the window. I jumped up and wrote down my question on a pad of stationary. The man, while amazed, still wrote back an answer.
"I did it. I killed him." he wrote.
I guess he thought I couldn't read or do anything about it. Just then I grabbed the paper and threw it down to Sam. He read it and came up the fire escape. He looked the chubby bald man right in the eye. Then in perfect English and diction he said,
"Big mistake my friend. You have just admitted to murder. Now you will pay. Come with me. I'm taking you in."
I was baffled. Was Sam playing dumb this whole time to get me to help him, or was he just dumb. If he isn't a cop, then he has no where to take him "in" to. I wonder what he'll do next.
"I said come with me slimeball. You will pay for your crime and injustice to this man and his family." Sam again said perfectly
"You can't touch me, pal. I'm in my house, you need you a warrant bad boy."
