Fall Pumpkin Treats

Margie's Pumpkin Bread

My friend Margie gave me this recipe and people ask for this recipe often. This would be very easy to make with a child. It has a pretty color and a great taste. Terrific with a little cream cheese on top!

3½ cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1½ teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3 cups sugar
1 cup oil
4 eggs
2/3( two thirds) cup water
2 cups canned pumpkin

Mix all together. Bake 350° for 1 hour in greased and floured loaf pans. Makes two loaves.

Pumpkin-nickel Bread
This one has an interesting top.

¼ cup vegetable oil
¼ cup melted butter
¾ cup sugar
1 large egg
1 cup pumpkin, canned
1 cup grated apple
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon cinnamon
Optional: ½ cup raisins or chopped nuts

Topping:  2 Tablespoons butter
2 Tablespoons sugar
2 Tablespoons flour
½ teaspoon cinnamon

Mix together the first 6 ingredients.
In another bowl, mix all the other ingredients except topping.
Combine both mixtures until moistened.
Spoon into greased loaf pan.
Mix topping ingredients together with fingers to make crumbs. Sprinkle on the top.
Bake 350º for 1 hour.
