4th of July Treats
Use these recipes for a
special holiday celebration.
Red,
White, and Blueberry Cream Cheese Tarts
These look very colorful and are
easy to make.
2 (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
12 vanilla wafers, crushed into crumbs or use graham cracker crumbs
can of blueberry pie fill
can of cherry pie fill Beat
cream cheese until soft, gradually add sugar. Beat until fluffy.
Add eggs, beat well. Stir in vanilla.
Put muffin papers in muffin cups. Line the bottom of each cup
with wafer or graham cracker crumbs.
Spoon in cream cheese mixture, filling cups full.
Bake 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
Leave in muffin pans and refrigerate overnight.
To serve: top a each tart with a small amount of pie fill,
alternating with cherry and blueberry. Makes 12 tarts.

Country
Spareribs
I put this delicious
sauce on meaty country pork ribs .
You could also use it for chicken or beef. Sauce
- melt and stir this all together on stove for a few minutes:
1 stick butter or margarine
¾ cup ketchup
½ cup brown sugar
3 Tablespoons lemon juice
1 Tablespoon Dijon-style mustard
2 teaspoons bottled steak sauce
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
Meat - Cook country pork ribs ( with no sauce) for 1 hour in oven
at 350 degrees.
I place mine on a rack in a large pan to help drip off some fat.
Then baste with sauce every 15 minutes for another hour.
I turn mine over each time I baste.

4th of July Eggs
This is a fun idea.
Every Easter I buy an extra package of egg dye tablets.
Then for my 4th of July table I hard boil eggs.
I draw stripes on half with the wax crayon and dye them red,
and draw stars and dye the other half blue. Leave a few undecorated.
Place them all in a holiday bowl for an edible and decorative dish.
If it is hot put the bowl on ice.
