A geologist knows how to make the bedrock!

A short history of myself

My name is Bart Andrew Sattler and I am a 2001 graduate of geosciences and earth science from The Pennsylvania State University, located in central Pennsylvania.

I am the youngest of three children, with two older sisters. I was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, lived there for about a year, then moved to the industrial town of Midland, Michigan, where I began schooling, but left for western Pennsylvania during the middle of first grade.

After high school, I spent two years living at home, attending a satellite campus. I then moved into the dorms at Penn State in University Park, PA (16802). After the brief dorm stay, I moved to an apartment complex in State College, PA (16803). After two semesters there, I moved to another apartment complex in State College (16801). I then graduated and took a job in Massachusetts.

I lived in Harvard, MA for 6 months, but could not endure the inhumane commute of 3 miles to work every morning, so I moved to Ayer, MA, which left me to the little less exhausting 2 mile commute to work. This is now where I call home.

What I do like:
I enjoy playing the piano

I am by no means Rachmaninov, but I love sitting there playing 'easy classics' and good adult contemporary music.

...I love reading. I can read all day. Mostly Scientific American, Nature, and Discover. I also like Fantasy. (Asimov, Margaret Weis, Tracy Hickman, Irene Radford, David Eddings, Terry Brooks)

...I love playing volleyball, softball, and bridge (yes, the card game for seniors!).

...I love listening to classical music.

...I love watching Jeopardy, Nova and The Discovery Channel, though I don't own a t.v.

...I love spending time with family and friends.

...I love taking road trips with friends and family, apparently making them nervous when I measure the strike and dip of the rocks.

What I do not like:

...Playing dress-up when going out to the bars

...President Clinton

...Extreme environmentalists

...Political leaders trying to steal Constitutional rights out from under our feet

...Non-scientific opposition to Yucca Mountain
