Tuesday, September 8th
was the eighteenth and final week of the Duffers 2009 season. All that’s left to do is tabulate the POINTS
and HANDICAPS, count those attending The Outing, collect the remaining Skins
and BlindBogey numbers, and wish everyone GOOD LUCK at Saturday’s Final
Tournament! Last nights weather was
playable with 78-degree temperatures and mostly cloudy skies. KnockDown #4 was played last night bringing
an end to the season long Points Tournament.
Congratulation to this years first place POINTS winner, Stanny. Complete Tournament results can be
scrutinized from the ‘Home Page’.
Yesterday attendance was lighter than average with only 41 of 55
members (75%) and 3 guests joining us in our final trek around the back
nine.
Final Member attendance for the year was an acceptable yet disappointing 91%, while total attendance,
including guests and make-up rounds was a VERY GOOD 99%.

ended. No make-up scores will be
accepted for Wk#18.
With
~55 members + guests and the league ahead of us; the Duffers
disappointingly did NOT learn the benefits of playing READY GOLF this season
but rest assured, I will renew my coaching and prompting again next season!

Although I noticed a few 1+-hole gaps out there, yesterday’s Pace of Play was pretty
good! In fact, the best we’ve have had
in a LONG TIME! Rest assured. I will
continue to harp on SLOW PLAY, as I am confident you will work on your “ready
golf techniques” during the 2010 season.
Just remember that ‘your proper position on the golf course is behind
the group in front of you, NOT
in front of the group behind you!’

Outing…
’09 Season
Final Tournament & Outing…
As you should know, the ‘09 Final Outing is being held at Creekwood
Country Club, Saturday, September 12th at 9:00. It’s usually an all day affair. The only cost to members is $10 for entry
into the Skins / Blind Bogey game. All
league members and guests will receive 18-holes of golf (cart included),
lunch at the turn, and dinner (BBQ ribs with chicken and all the trimmings) catered by Lone
Tree. A prize ceremony will follow
dinner.
All guest, ‘proxy’,
and extra dinner fees must have been PAID IN FULL by last night, Tuesday Sept.
8th. Tee times and
extra meals are only guaranteed to those who are “Paid-in-Full”.

After Skins and Pins…
starts next Tuesday (9/15) and continues as long as weather and daylight
permits.
Skin News…
Our Skin Committee members are: Chip Dubosh, Skip Skufca,
Mark Sustarsic, Mike Milam, and Todd Cramer.
Their
duties are to: ENCOURAGE game participation (Skin & 50/50) by
our members, guarantee correct sign-in and tabulation, watch and sort
the money, ensure there is no ‘after posting’, assist in score
keeping, and help with prize money distribution. If you have any ideas or suggestions about
how these games could be run more efficiently please see a committee member
or Stanny.

AfterSkins & Pins extension season starts Tuesday (9/15)...
Just because this year’s official League activities have come
to an end doesn't mean that golf on Tuesday evening has to! Join us for Skins and Pins through the
months of September and October. It's a beautiful time of the year to
play a round at Creekwood!
AfterSkins and
Pins is open to ALL players with no restrictions so bring your friends out to
play golf and Skins!

insure that his own score is CORRECTLY and LEGIBLY recorded (both
gross and net) on the weekly skin / work sheet. Even though you may not have been the person
keeping score for the foursome, it is your duty to insure that it was done
correctly! Do it right and you won’t
end up listed in the “Moron’s Corner”!
