LEAGUE INFO…
Recap…
Tuesday, July 28th
was the twelfth week of the Duffers 2009 season. Round two of the Match Play
Tournament started last week with a rain out, which leaves only ONE week left
in round #3. Last night’s weather was
very pleasant with 84-degree temperatures and sunny skies. Even with the perfect weather, attendance
was rather disappointing with only 47 of 55 members (85%) and 6 guests
making their way around the back nine. Who
were all those guests and why didn’t their member hosts get them into the 50/50
game? Even with the elimination of
John Parker, from the active roster, member attendance for the year is only 92%, while total attendance,
including guests and make-up rounds is an EXCELLENT 99%.

REMEMBER, you have one week to play your make-up round. You must play the same side
that the league was originally scheduled to play. Turn your scorecards in to a Creekwood Clubhouse Counter Staff
Member, asking them to place it in the Duffer File, or give it to Stanny on
Tuesday.
With
~55 members + guests and the NASA league ahead of us; the Duffers
MUST play READY GOLF!
Ready Golf
means BEING READY to play, not playing when you're ready. Here are some simple
hints.
More Ready Golf information can be found by clicking

Let’s try to have our
first group on the tee box by 4:15, right behind the NASA group.
Yesterday’s Pace of play was slow, SLOW, SLOW!
What the #$%& was going on out there last night? The summer heat must have caused us
to mope around the back nine. Someone
actually called the clubhouse to complain about the slow play but when the
ranger went out to investigate, there were no gaps on the course and every
group was in pretty good position. MUST
HAVE JUST BEEN THE SUMMER HEAT causing us to lazy our way about the course.
Daylight is starting to slip away from us. We are losing about five minutes of daylight each week and in
just a few weeks we will once again be struggling to finish before dark. Please allow our “back-of-the-pack
players” to finish before sunset by playing ready golf and playing quickly.
Just remember that ‘your proper position on the golf course is behind
the group in front of you, NOT
in front of the group behind you!’
Help Needed…
Paul Chichester has a friend whose son has been fighting leukemia for
the past year. Last year, to help out
with medical costs, Paul and his friends put together a FUNDRAISING GOLF
OUTING that was held at Sweetbriar G.C. in Avon Lake. This year, the family hopes to “Pay it
forward” by helping out other sick kids.
or speak with Paul Chichester for more information. Hopefully, “The Duffers” will be able to get a few foursomes
together to help out.
’09 Match
Play Tournament…
Round
three of “The Match Play Tournament” started last week with one match being
rained out. Just ONE match was played
last night leaving THREE matches to be played next week. Completed match results along with an up-to-date

posted on the bulletin board outside the clubhouse.

MORON’S CORNER…
(Formerly
JETHRO CIPHERS)
This is the spot where
I will highlight (low light) the SPECIAL skills of Duffers and
their simplistic mathematic disabilities.
EMPTY… good job guys!
a friendly REMINDER…
It is each and every member’s personal responsibility to
insure that his own score is CORRECTLY and LEGIBLY recorded (both
gross and net) on the weekly skin / work sheet. Even though you may not have been the person
keeping score for the foursome, it is your duty to insure that it was done
correctly! Do it right and you won’t
end up listed in the “Moron’s Corner”!
LARRY
LAHIFF'S SKIN GAMES…
are a great way
to s t r e t c h the summer holiday weekends and play a
round of golf with friends at one of the areas FINEST golf courses.
The remaining date is:
Friday September 4th.
It is also being held
at Eagle Creek GC in Norwalk. The first tee time is ~9:30 and everyone is
