LEAGUE INFO…
Recap…
Tuesday, June 9th
was the sixth official week of the DUFFERS 2009 season. The weather was PERFECT with
76-degree temperatures and sunny, calm skies.
The beautiful weather provided a great backdrop for the Duffers who were
making their way around the front nine.
We had 49 of 56 members (88%) and 3 guests tee it up and
enjoy the terrific conditions.
Member attendance for the year remains 93%, while total attendance, including guests and make-up rounds remains a
very good 99%.

REMEMBER, you have one week to play
your make-up round. You must play
the same side that the league was originally scheduled to play.
Turn your scorecards in to a Creekwood Clubhouse Counter Staff Member, asking
them to place it in the Duffer File, or give it to Stanny on Tuesday.
Maintain your Final Tournament Eligibility by having no more than
two absences during the season!
With
~55 members + guests and the NASA league ahead of us; the Duffers
MUST play READY GOLF!
Ready Golf
means BEING READY to play, not playing when you're ready. Here are some simple
hints.
More Ready Golf information can be found by clicking

Let’s try to have our
first group on the tee box by 4:15, right behind the NASA group.
Yesterday’s Pace of play was very quick at the front and a little better at the
back!
Just remember that ‘your proper position on the golf course is behind
the group in front of you, NOT
in front of the group behind you!’
’09 Match

Final Outing…
The Final Outing
is being held Saturday, Sept. 12th, 9:00, at Creekwood Golf Course. Mark your calendars now!

we will be enjoying a rib roast with chicken and all the trimmings, catered by
Lone Tree Tavern.
Skin News…
Our Skin Committee members are: Chip Dubosh, Skip Skufca,
Mark Sustarsic, Mike Milam, and Todd Cramer.
Their
duties are to: ENCOURAGE game participation (Skin & 50/50) by
our members, guarantee correct sign-in and tabulation, watch and sort
the money, ensure there is no ‘after posting’, assist in score
keeping, and help with prize money distribution. If you have any ideas or suggestions about
how these games could be run more efficiently please see a committee member
or Stanny.
Remember,
you can’t win if you don’t play!

Lets continue exerting some peer pressure and see if we can keep some of
these non-players in The Skins!
Tuesdays Winners were…
Low Net
(31) – Paul Chichester – $44
Pin #4 – Mike Kennedy – $44
Pin #7 – Pete Cloherty – $44
THREE Skins were out @ $29 each…
#2 – birdie
– Bob Gawronski
#4 – birdie – Mike Kennedy
#8 – birdie – Dick Ade
How about some involvement from other Skin Committee Members!
I wouldn’t be
surprised if Skip may be getting a bit annoyed at the lack of participation
of his fellow committee members. (see above)
NOTE… PLEASE DON’T
PREMATURELY CIRCLE YOUR BIRDIES ON THE SKIN SHEET!
It’s a pretty television graphic presentation BUT it makes it VERY DIFFICULT
to see the TRUE SKINS!
50/50 Game…

dictates that the winners buy the drinks, or be heckled miserably!
MORON’S CORNER…
(Formerly
JETHRO CIPHERS)
This is the spot where
I will highlight (low light) the SPECIAL skills of Duffers and
their simplistic mathematic disabilities.
6+5+5+5+5+6+4+6+7 = 49 not 50 – Chuck Bartsche
6+5+5+3+5+6+3+6+7 = 46 not 47 – Glenn McLaughlin
a friendly REMINDER…
It is each and every member’s personal responsibility to
insure that his own score is CORRECTLY recorded (both gross and net)
on the weekly skin / work sheet. Even
though you may not have been the person keeping score for the foursome, it is
your duty to insure that it was done correctly! Do it right and you won’t end up listed in the “Moron’s
Corner”!
