LEAGUE INFO…
Recap…
Tuesday, August 5th was the 16th official week of the
DUFFERS 2008 season. The weather again
was typical Cleveland end-o-summer with mostly cloudy skies, mid 80-degree
muggy temperatures. Round #4 of the
Match Play Tournament started with NO matches being played. Attendance was HIGH with 47 of
50 members (94%) and 7
guests trudging their way around the front nine. Member attendance for the year remains 92%, while total
attendance, including guests and make-up rounds remains an incredible 101%!

REMEMBER, you have one week to play your make-up round. You must play the same side
that the league was originally scheduled to play. Turn your scorecards in to a Creekwood Clubhouse Counter Staff
Member, asking them to place it in the Duffer File, or give it to Stanny on
Tuesday.
With 50 members and the NASA league ahead of us, the Duffers MUST
play READY GOLF!
Be ready to hit when it’s your turn.
Plan in advance; think about your up-coming shot while you’re
approaching the ball and go ahead and hit it if there is no one else in the
vicinity, regardless of who has honors.
If you are not in another player’s way, line up your putt while
another player is hitting his. Regardless
of the ‘beer girl’ not everyone in the foursome needs to hang around
the beer cart when she is present, someone should be hitting the ball while
others are buying the beer. Please
recognize that ‘your proper position on the
golf course is behind the group in front of you, NOT in front of the group
behind you!’

WOW… who was in that first group??
The back-o-the pack should be able to make it around in just a few more
minutes than the first group! Keep
up with the group in front of you.
With
summer slipping away and this years Duffer season moving toward its end,
daylight will once again become an issue.
Each week we will be losing more and more daylight, as sunset is earlier
and earlier. Yesterday’s sunset was at
8:40 while next weeks sunset will be 8:31. Give your fellow Duffers at the back-o-the pack a break and make
an effort to get around the course in a timely manner.

Hey guys (girls)… it’s just like the lotto, ‘you can’t win
if you don’t PLAY!
Tuesdays Winners were…
Low Net (31) – Paul Ebright –
$41 – won his way back into the Championship Tournament after missing three
weeks!
Pin #4 – “Pronk” – $41
Pin #7 – Chip Dubosh – $41
One Skin was out @ $82…
#2 – birdie – Paul Ebright – (14 handicapper, had a very good
day)
Tradition
dictates that they buy you a drink, or be heckled miserably!
NOTE… PLEASE DON’T PREMATURELY CIRCLE YOUR BIRDIES ON THE SKIN SHEET! It’s a pretty television graphic
presentation BUT it makes it VERY DIFFICULT to see the TRUE SKINS!
Reminder to all Skin
Players…
This Year’s Skin Game is open to all dues paid MEMBERS (no guests). Game entry (payment and entry indication)
must be made prior to teeing off.
Posting
and/or paying after your round is completed, is not permitted.
MORON’S
CORNER… (Formerly JETHRO CIPHERS)
This is the spot where I will highlight (low light) the SPECIAL
skills of Duffers and their simplistic mathematic disabilities.
51-15 = 36 not 46 – Bob King
a friendly REMINDER…
It is each and every
member’s personal responsibility to insure that his own score is CORRECTLY
recorded (both gross and net) on the weekly skin / work
sheet. Even
though you may not have been the person keeping score for the foursome, it is
your duty to insure that it was done correctly! Do it
right and you won’t end up listed in the “Moron’s Corner”!
LARRY LAHIFF'S SKIN

are a great way to s t r e t c
h the summer holiday weekends and

This year’s remaining date is Friday, August 29th at Eagle Creek GC
in Norwalk. The first tee time is ~9:30 and everyone is welcome to attend.
